The 25 Laptops with the Best Battery Life
These are the current laptops, tablets and 2-in-1 hybrids with the longest battery life.
By by Dan Ackerman - cnet.com, March 3, 2017
The most important feature for many laptop shoppers is battery life, and rightly so. We carry these devices to meetings, to class, on airplanes and even just from room to room at home. Maximizing time away from the power outlet keeps you mobile and lets you move around without lugging a power brick.
Based on the extensive battery testing conducted in the CNET Labs, these are the 25 PCs with the longest battery life scores over the previous 12 months, including Windows and MacOS laptops, Windows 2-in-1 hybrids, and Chromebooks running Google's Chrome OS. (Not included are Android or iOS tablets.)
The top spot is a bit of a surprise, going to the Acer Chromebook R13, a budget-friendly but long-lasting Chrome OS laptop. The top Windows system is Microsoft's 2016 refresh of the Surface Book, which benefits from having a battery in its tablet screen and a second battery in its keyboard base.

Movie Night? Nope. It's a Fake iTunes Receipt from Phishers Targeting Apple Users
Put the popcorn away… there aren’t any movie purchases here.
By David Bisson - grahamcluley.com, February 26, 2017
Submitted by Ken Carlozzi
A new phishing campaign is using a fake iTunes receipt for movie purchases to compromise Apple users' sensitive information.
Fortinet researchers first spotted the phishing campaign over the weekend of 17 February. The attack begins when an Apple user receives a receipt that appears to have come from iTunes. In actuality, an email address based in Norway sent the message. The receipt lists purchases for a series of movies. These films (which include "Allied", "Arrival", and "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back") debuted in theaters recently, which makes the ruse relevant and consequently more believable.

The Battle for Online Privacy: What You Need to Know
CNET explains everything you need to know about the latest political battle over how your digital data should be protected.
By Marguerite Reardon -March 8, 2017
Republicans are doing all they can to make sure the Federal Communications Commission can't tell broadband companies how to handle your personal data online.
In the latest move, Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona on Tuesday evening introduced a resolution that would kill rules the FCC passed in October to regulate consumer privacy for internet service providers. The measure, which has 21 Republican sponsors, would use the Congressional Review Act to repeal the rules.
Flake's move follows other recent measures taken by Republicans to get rid of regulation adopted by the previous FCC led by Democrat Tom Wheeler.
Last week, new FCC Chairman Ajit Pai put the brakes on a rule that put in stricter requirements for broadband companies to protect your data from hackers. Proponents like consumer advocacy groups argue that the rules protect your privacy, while internet service providers say the regulations are too strict and don't apply to online companies like Facebook or Google.
So what's all this mean for consumers? CNET has put together this FAQ to help explain the ins and outs. CLICK HERE to read more.
